Recently, US President Joe Biden released a picture of
space standing in the White House. Which has been claimed to be a picture of
4.8 billion years ago. Now many science-minded people are wondering, how is it
possible that this historical picture published today is 4.6 billion or 4.8
billion years old ?
To understand this concept we need to know about light time. As
we know, this vast to vast distance of the universe is expressed in light
years.
Now I say, what is the time of light? It takes 6 minutes
and 19 seconds for light to come from the sun to the earth. The distance of the
sun from the earth as the time of light is 6.31 minutes of light time. This
distance is calculated with the speed of light. So the state of the sun we see
right now from Earth happened to the Sun 8 minutes 19 seconds ago. What happens
to the sun takes 8 minutes and 19 seconds to reach the earth. Basically we see
the past.

Now come to the light year. The distance that light can
travel in one year is called 1 light year. 1 light year = 9.461 × 10 ^ 12
kilometers. The distance of this huge universe if we are ordinary km. If you go
to publish then you will have to take a lot of trouble.
The closest star to our solar system is Proxima Centauri.
Its distance from the earth is 4.24 light years. In other words, it takes about
4 years and 3 months for the light of these stars to come to earth. When we see
this star from Earth, it is basically 4 years and 3 months ago. As such, we see
the past of everything in space.
The image from the James Wave Space Telescope is 4.6
billion light-years from Earth. This means that the position of the galaxies we
see in this picture is basically 4.6 billion years old.
So suppose there is an animal with a better brain than us
at the moment from one of the planets in the galaxy as shown in the picture. If
they look at our earth with a more advanced telescope, they will be able to see
the position of dinosaurs roaming the earth or even earlier. And according to
that hypothesis, it is possible to be a picture of 460 million years ago.
